Soviet Posters From World War Two

These original posters were photographed, with permission, during a visit to the National Art Museum in Komsomol Na Amur. There are also a few front pages from Komsomolskaya Pravda which were published at that time. 

Translations into English are in red and in some cases explanations are in black below each poster.

WE WILL DEFEND MOSCOW!

YOUTH, FIGHT FOR YOUR MOTHERLAND!

The top headline above the newspaper's name reads roughly: 

GLORY TO GREAT STALIN THE CREATOR OF OUR VICTORY!

MORE PLANES, TANKS, BIG GUNS, ARTILLERY 

KILL THE FASCIST BASTARD!

THE TIME IS COMING WHEN THE RED ARMY TOGETHER WITH ALLIED ARMIES WILL BREAK THE SPINE OF THE FASCIST BEAST

The boot is stomping on three words:

UNIVERSITY, SCHOOL, LESSONS

Below them, along the bottom is a short poem:

A pig does not need culture or science

its worldview is very limited

Mein Kampf is the most sophisticated note

of its oinking

and a sergeant's boot is its ideal

This is like a musical jingle.

BECAUSE THE PLANS OF THE BLITZKIEG

WERE FOILED

THE BAYONETS ARE GETTING CLOSER AND THE GERMAN MONSTER IS MOANING IN AGONY, FEELING THAT THE END IS NEAR
